Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) describe the methods, equipment, facilities, and controls for producing processed food,
Drug, and Cosmetic.
GMP regulations address issues including record keeping, personnel qualifications, sanitation, cleanliness, equipment verification,
process validation, and complaint handling. This provides much flexibility, but also requires that the manufacturer interpret the
requirements in a manner which makes sense for each individual business.
GMP also has legal components, covering responsibilities for distribution, contract manufacturing and testing, and responses to
product defects and complaints. Specific GMP requirements relevant to classes of products such as sterile pharmaceuticals or
biological medicinal products are provided in a series of annexes to the general GMP requirements.
